Most potential funders say "wow what a great project". Almost all older women I speak to are excited or interested in the whole concept. This week I'll find out what, if any, support they will give the project. If someone gives something it will strengthen the chances of the Arts Council topping up so that the workshops can happen.
Suitable rehearsal/practice space costs a fair bit and the two brilliant women who are leading the workshops live out of county and will be paid the professional rate. There's a small amount cost for travel and stationery.
I'll post the formal project proposal here. If anyone can offer any assistance in the running, funding, hosting of this project, I'd love to hear from you - this week???
I'm also intending to post the artist/educator statements of the women who will be delivering the workshops, Adele Levi and Pip Jones. It's also hoped that an Alexander teacher will come and lead at least one session.
This is the discussion place - looking forward to talking about this with others - right here.

Workshops in theatre improvisation and vocal production for older women wanting to discover or develop their practice. The workshops are managed by an older woman music and theatre graduate who is developing a new methodology in devising and performing sung dramatic material in company with and about contemporary older women.
