Women Ageing in the UK

It's all in the terminology.  Here's a project obviously proudly supported by the University of Sheffield
http://www.representing-ageing.com/  which looks interesting.  I'll do more research on that particular project.  It strikes me how my female academics and lecturers support my CEP and POWOW but University College Falmouth has not done so, as yet.  It feels like I work and study in an institution that hasn't woken up to ageism yet so no wonder they're not ready for older women making new performance art.

I'll search more on the search terms 'Women Ageing in the UK' as searching 'Older Women UK' brings up hardly anything of interest.  I use the term 'Older Women' to take back ownership of the words from the narrow-minded  disrespectful and negative uses that young men, commercial interests and others put it to.

I'm an older woman and I'll use the term how I like to.  How do you use it?  Who's going to define it?  I don't care - I'm taking it back.

Anyone know what I'm on about?
