Stillness,
Silence!

What the Workshops are Not

The vocal production workshops are not singing classes.  Some of us who come from a singing background have had lessons from singing teachers who all have their particular methodologies and approaches.  There are many styles of singing and, although I’m studying Bel Canto, I realise that other people practise their preferred styles.  Through the activities with Pip we can use our singing voices as, how and when we feel inspired to, having first had the optimum preparation before releasing our sound.

For those people who may be hoping for singing lessons, there will be singers of various backgrounds at the workshop from classical to jazz.  If there is a demand for specific singing help, some needs could be met from the expertise within the group.  We will find out what participants want and need and respond appropriately to that.

Your Wellbeing During the Workshops

I have a few aching joints, and know which things I can and can’t do.  Pip is aware that we all have different physical conditions and abilities.  She will remind us to work within our limitations and listen to our bodies.  If you have any particular needs you would like Pip to be aware of please let me know and I’ll give you her contact details before the commencement of the workshops.

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pillow and blanket.  We will have chairs available but quite a lot of the work will be on the floor as well as in the open studio space.
